With a focus on holistic and quality health care services, The Nairobi Women's Hospital runs a number of special clinics in addition to its general medical care provision; this ensures that our clients receive specialized medical care. The Gynaecology Clinic
This clinic distinguishes us from many hospitals since it runs on a daily basis, including weekends and public holidays, and is a walk-in clinic i.e. clients are seen without the need of prior booking. It is managed by the resident gynaecologist and also incorporates the Family Planning Clinic, the Infertility Clinic and the Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Center. The Ante-natal Clinic
The Antenatal clinics are run by an Obstetrician - Gynaecologist on a daily basis, including weekends and public holidays. This clinic is yet another feature that sets us apart from other facilities, where women are able to walk in and see the doctor without an appointment. Our antenatal clinic offers all-encompassing, comprehensive care to expectant women on all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, pre-natal exercises, health talks etc, therefore effectively preparing the mother for childbirth and motherhood. We offer free HIV/AIDS testing for expectant mothers and for those who are positive, we offer free anti-retroviral drugs and follow up counselling, through our Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS (PMTCT) programme. HIV positive expectant mothers are advised on delivery options and alternatives to breastfeeding, to minimize transmission of the HIV/AIDS virus to the baby during and after delivery. Nutrition is an essential part of good health, and we offer ample nutritional advice, which is tailored to the specific dietary needs of each patient. Our nutritionist works very closely with the medical personnel to ensure that each patient is able to keep up their strength and consume foods that will aid them in the recovery process. Outpatient clients can also request to see the nutritionist and consult with her on any aspect of their diet during recovery. The nutritionist also works closely with the CCCP programme so as to ensure that HIV+ clients are put on the best possible diet
